What Those Whitening Products Contain and How They Work

Whitening products are now being considered a commodity by women. Lots and lots of females are getting conscious with their skin tone and these products are somewhat not shy about making promises because some of it actually can deliver and stay true to what they endorse.
Here are some skin lightening ingredients and how they actually work.
Alpha-arbutin
This is a biosynthetic chemical compound formed by the action of enzymes which is manufactured in powder form and is water soluble. This is one of the most advanced skin lighteners available in the market.

Beta-arbutin (bearberry extract)
It is a natural extract found in bearberry plants which restrains the activity of tyrosinase which triggers the production of melanin, the brown pigment produced by the skin.

Emblica
Extracted from the plant Phyllanthus emblica which contains compounds at many levels for continuous stable antioxidant ativity.
Glutathione
This is a powerful antioxidant which has a potent anti-aging and immune-system boosting property.

Glycolic acid
This is an alpha hydroxyl acid which promotes skin exfoliation which peels and brightens skin tones. Exfoliation evens skin tone and skin discoloration and helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles.

Hydroquinone
This is a standard ingredient used for skin lightening products in the past. It is also considered as one of the most safest and effective treatment for hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun damage and melasma.

Kojic Acid
One of the more recent additions to skin lightening products and used for treatment of age spots and hyperpigmentation is Kojic Acid. This is derived from fungi and is believed to inhibit the production of melanin.

Lactic Acid
This element is derived from milk which mimics the properties of glycolic acid and is much more suitable for people with sensitive skin.

Lemon juice extract
One of nature’s donations to skin bleaching is the lemon juice extract. Unfortunately, this is sometimes irritation to the skin and should only be used in small amounts in skin lightening.

Licorice extract
Licorice contains glabbridin which prevents the activity of tyrosinase which is found in small traces of the licorice plant.

Niacinamide
Commonly known as Vitamin B3 which helps in improving skin texture and helps reduce fine lines, hyperpigmentation and reduce fine lines.

Vitamin C
Is the perfect antioxidant which stabilizes forms reducing the formation of melanin when applied topically. Among these forms are L-ascorbic acid, magnesium, ascorbyl phosphate and sodium ascorbyl phosphate.
